Arena Wars more or less delivers on what you would expect, even tho it was more trashy then I would have expected, but then at some points tries to be tragic and it almost feels like its taking itself too serious, just to go full trash mode moments after.
The fighting sequences are mostly relatively uninspired, I did like that they looked pretty messy tho, as it makes sense to me in the context that you have a bunch of criminals just ganging up on the killers.
Also, I feel like the movie could have been a lot more fun if you cut out the mostly irrelevant story elements and spend more time on the presentation of the inmates and especially the killers, they didn't feel unique or like an actual threat.
All in all this movie was alright to watch and forget, the characters had at least a bit of character so you can actually root for them, tho the story for the most part didn't make a lot of sense, it feels like the makers tried a lot but in the end it was more quantity over quality, it was also not even close to as brutal as you would think with the story. I wouldn't recommend watching this if you havn't seen a lot movies like this, cuz most of them are probably better, but if you have seen a lot of movies already and just wanna watch something decently entertaining to kill some time, then you might as well give it a try and judge yourself.
